A E L HISTORY - 1989
|
1989 In September of that same year 1989 a second meeting was organised in Konstanz at which occasion lectures were given amongst others by Jürgen von Stietencron about his research on methods of construction of the violin, observing quite a number of original old Italian instruments. An other lecture was given by Karl Roy, about the influence on the cellular structure of the wood while transported in the river, in comparison with the wood transported over land. Roger Hargrave reported about his experiences during the making of a violin in following the methods as described in Sacconi's book about Stradivarius. During that same meeting the members took the opportunity to show each other their own-made instruments, bows and/or restorations. |
